Terms of sale and use
1. Who we are
These terms cover the plug-ins and the website of Salara Technologies ("Salara", "we", "us"), based in Québec, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What you are buying
A purchase gives you a licence to download and use the software described on its product page (for example Samturation). Prices are shown in US dollars. The software is delivered as a digital download; nothing is shipped.
3. Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe, which sells the software to you as the merchant of record, collects any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live, and issues your receipt. Salara never sees or stores your card number.
4. Licence
- One purchase is one licence for one person. You may install and use the software on every computer you personally own or use, and use the sounds you make with it in any music or audio project, commercial or not, without royalties or credit.
- You may not resell, share, sublicense, rent or publicly distribute the installer, your download link or the software, and you may not reverse engineer it, except where the law allows it despite this clause.
- The software and its artwork stay the property of Salara Technologies. The licence is yours until you break these terms.
5. Refunds
If Samturation is not right for you, write to us within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full, no questions asked. After a refund, the licence ends and you should uninstall the software. Refunds are returned to the original payment method; your bank decides how long that takes.
Because the software is a digital product, this refund window is a courtesy and does not limit any right you have under the consumer protection laws of your place of residence.
6. Download links
Your download page is tied to your payment and works for one year from the purchase date. Keep the page address (bookmark it). If you lose it, write to us from the email you used to pay and we will send you a new one. We may deactivate the link of a payment that was refunded or disputed.
7. Requirements and support
The requirements are listed on each product page (operating system, architecture, plug-in formats). We test in Ableton Live on macOS; other hosts that support the same formats should work but are not individually guaranteed. We answer support requests by email on a best-effort basis.
8. Warranty and liability
The software is provided "as is". Some of its controls can produce very loud output: turn your monitoring down before you experiment, and use a limiter on anything you care about, including your hearing and your speakers. To the extent the law allows, Salara is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data or loss of profit, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the software. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when we add a product. The version shown on this page applies to purchases made while it is published. Updates are announced with a new effective date at the top.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protection rules of the place where you live.
